The Six Queens of Henry VIII is the story of the Tudor King, rich in emotional and psychological drama, brought vividly to life through lavishly realised dramatic reconstruction and the duelling perspectives of two of Channel 5’s most vibrant historians. But it's easy to see that Henry VIII has become the most infamous English King, and is remembered half a millennium later for his romantic passion and his tyrannous rule.

In an ambitious, ground-breaking approach to drama and history, historian Lucy Worsley time travels back to the Tudor Court to witness some of the most dramatic moments in the lives of Henry VIII’s Six Wives. Combining drama written by Chloe Moss with Lucy’s own contemporary historical comment, Lucy will move seamlessly from the present to the past, appearing as a range of silent servants: a maid, midwife or nurse maid. As the drama plays out, Lucy eavesdrops on the events in the Royal Court and reports back. 　　Closely knit and often related to each other, the Tudor court was made up of a small group of powerful families all vying for influence and power over each other.
